Private Investigator Bursary

National bursary competition for academic year 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. Each scholarship will provide £1,000 to assist one student undertaking a full-time course (BTEC Level 3 and above).

The award will be made to the individual student for one year only.

What is This Scholarship?

We have a huge interest in the education of the next generation of private detectives and investigators and as we have a commitment to helping others we are offering one student a monetary award to assist with their education.

Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for this scholarship you must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicants are required to be studying for a BTEC Level 3 or above
  • Applicants are required to have firmly accepted their offer of a full-time place
  • Applicants must be registered with the university by the 31st October 2014 for the bursary 2014/2015 and 31st October 2015 for the bursary 2015-2016.

A panel made up of private detectives and investigators will meet in early November to consider who the scholarship will be awarded to.

Here is a list of suggested courses that would benefit from this bursary or alternatively if you have applied for or are attending a course that would benefit our industry please apply:

Criminology, Forensic Science, Criminology and Police Science, Forensic Crime Scene, Digital, E-Crime, Cyber Crime, Forensic Investigation, Forensic Analysis, Crime and Investigative Studies, Criminology and Sociology, Law, Psychology and Criminology, Policing, Law and Investigation.

Applicants that meet this criterion are invited to submit a 200 word statement titled "How The Private Investigator Scholarship Will Help Me" via the below form.

    There are many places to visit when going to Havering. The Queen's Theatre Hornchurch is located near the Havering Sixth Form College and provides the public with many events, such as The Elvis Years: Elvis Tribute and The Jive Aces. RSPB Rainham Marshes Nature Reserve preserves the old grazing marsh in the Thames Estuary. The tickets cost £3 for children and £5 for adults. Moreover, the borough provides some events like 'Belhus Woods Country Park'.

    The Havering Museum displays the story of Havering from pre-history until nowadays and focuses on the accomplishments of local people. The museum provides the public with some events, such as 'Titanic: Honour & Glory Exhibition', which from 7th April until 1st September and it costs £3, and 'Variety Club', which is on 9th May and it costs £2. 'Reminiscence Sessions' and 'Variety Clubs', are some of the exhibitions that are currently occurring at the museum.

    At the Rainham Hall, visitors will be able to explore the nearly three acre gardens. Some of the activities at Rainham Hall include sping walks, winter walks, autumnal walks and summer walks. The open garden squares weekend, Rainham May Fayre and Father's Day - Gentleman's Tea, Tree Trail, and Seed Bombing are some of the events and attractions that occurs at Rainham Hall. The place is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 11am until 4pm.
